The US measures height in feet and inches. Most of the world uses centimeters. Screen sizes are measured in inches everywhere, even by manufacturers in metric countries. Clothing uses inches in North America and centimeters in Europe. Navigating these systems is a daily reality for anyone who travels, shops internationally, or reads content from different regions.
Our handles any value. This guide covers the formula and the charts you will use most often.
The conversion formulas
Inches = Centimeters / 2.54
Centimeters = Inches x 2.54
1 inch = exactly 2.54 centimeters (a defined relationship, not an approximation).
Mental shortcut: 1 inch is approximately 2.5 cm. Divide cm by 2.5 for a quick inch estimate; multiply inches by 2.5 for cm.
